We had a great time at this month's Creative Fun Day! A total of seven people participated this month and a variety of fun things were created - and at least started.
Here is a picture of what the living room floor looked like at one point in the afternoon as we were all working from a similar pile of tools and materials.
What a happy creative mess. :)
Everyone participated in an outdoor creative project called Art Bombs mixing paint, vinegar and baking soda in plastic bags that were supposed to explode on the paper. Planned explosions were minimal, but a good stomping from a willing foot, created some wild patterns and colors. Here are a couple of pictures of our finished project. (Note that Scout is doing some art appreciation - or investigation in the second photo.)
With help from Laura and Jess we got this picture into the garage so that it didn't get caught in last nights rainfall. Even with the rain, my driveway is still quite colorful and that makes me smile.
Other projects included a beautiful butterfly book by Elizabeth.
A colorful and creative butterfly bookmark by Caroline
A perfect fabric scrap rosette by Jess
A really cool re-purposed t-shirt by Laura
An unfinished "word-bird" by Jil (who will hopefully finish it soon)
Some to-be-added- to prayer flags by Rachel
Rachel also has a fun post with other pictures about July's Creative Fun Day at her blog Umbrellis .
Check out her post and photos and the professional glamor shot of Scout.
I hope that this post inspires you to join us for our next Creative Fun Day - August 18!!
I had an awesome time!
